Rudy Lizarraga is a self-taught documentary photographer based in the American Southwest.
His work centers on the borderlands — the desert towns, border corridors, and barrios that form the backbone of Chicano life in the West. He photographs the people and places that rarely receive sustained attention: the faces of the Mexicali Valley, the remnants of forgotten settlements, the unscripted moments on corners and sidewalks before they disappear.
He works without assignment. No agenda. Just presence.
